Dwelling at no. 7, Large Square
the 15th – 18th century, the 20th century
The building presents an arched opening leading towards Arhivelor Street. This access was opened in 1558 and enlarged in 1775, a time when the house suffered transformations.
During the second half of the 15th century, around 1475, the house was in the property of Paul Horwath - Remser. In the 16th century, the property on the right passed in the possession of Albert Huet, royal judge, then it passed on to the Baussnern Family. In 1779 the building was bought by the Magistrates’ Office and then, between 1784 and 1904 the General Commandor of the Austrian troupes in Transylvania had his headquarters here. For this reason, the building bears the name of the General's House.
